Oliver Evans was born in 1954 in Chaville, France.
He attended university in Manchester, England where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976 as well as a prize for academic distinction.
Mr. Evans was appointed to his present function in April 2005. His responsibilities include full accountability for the cargo and mail business of Swiss International Air Lines, operating under the banner Swiss WorldCargo. Mr. Evans is a Member of the Extended Management Board of Swiss International Air Lines, a Lufthansa Group company. In addition, Mr. Evans is Chairman of the Board of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).
Swiss WorldCargo has consistently produced outstanding results since the foundation of SWISS, and is well established as a global leader in the specialized, care-intensive markets which are the focus of the strategy.
Mr. Evans joined SWISS in 2002 and prior to his current function held the position of Chief Sales and Marketing Officer and Member of the Management Board, with responsibility for Passenger sales and marketing worldwide.
Mr Evans previously worked for BAX Global, a leading international logistics service provider (from March 2001 until end 2002) and for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from 1987 to 2001, occupying various senior cargo management functions in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany and, from 1997, the Netherlands. Prior to KLM, Mr. Evans had worked for Ocean Transport and Trading of Liverpool, England, in several different countries including Italy and the United States after joining them from university as a graduate management trainee.
Mr. Evans is fluent in several European languages including French, English, German, Dutch and Italian. He is married with 2 children.
